Capital City STUDENTS

Leading students to be lifelong Christians leading students.

Our values

As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.  “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him.

- Matthew 4:18-20

Students today are different. Our purpose it to communicate an unchanging truth to a changing world through christian leadership.

We are led by Jesus, we lead students, and we teach students to lead other students.

We do this in four different areas: Knowing Jesus. Serving God and Others. Growing Community. Sharing our Story.

High School//9-12 grade

High School Ministry at Capital City Christian Church is an investment.

We know that there are many groups, events, and activities that students today can do. Student Ministry at Capital City is an investment into your student. It is our intent to be a resource of christian leadership for your son or daughter. We would like to come alongside your family and students in a very powerful way. We lead High School students in a very real and inviting way. The High School Team leaders engage with our students frequently so that they stay connected. Any student from any background is welcomed. We lead students to lead students. We have high expectations for our students which include leading the next generation.

We separate our High School students from our Jr. High students because we feel that this group needs serious age appropriate attention. However, we teach and lead that our students need to be concerned and mentor the next generation. Our students engage, lead, and connect with younger students and bring them up at the direction of our High School Team leaders.

We attend camps and conferences across the Midwest and have very high level events in the Jefferson City Mid Missouri area.

MIDDLE School//6-8 grade

Middle School Ministry at Capital City Christian Church is important.

Jr. High students, also know as Middle School students, often find themselves in the middle. In the middle of being a kid and a teen. They also find themselves in the middle of an extreme battle for their attention. We have a large influence which is important for this age group. We invest in this generation by using our High School Students and adults who get them and lead them. The Middle School team leaders are solid. The Team's High School students were just there, they know what our Jr. High/ Middle School students need. The Team's adult leaders get it. They know to have the perfect balance of grace and truth when working with this age group.

The Middle School Ministry is separate from our High School students. This group need age specific leadership which is important. We invest in our Middle School students similar to our High School students. We have very large expectations for them and include them in reaching to our younger students in our Children's ministry lead by Karen Laughter. We expect them to be concerned with the next generation of students.
